The first weekend of May 2009 during our travel across the Balkans we spent in Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After 2 days of hanging around and enjoying the oriental atmosphere in the old town of Mostar, we paid a visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lady of the house of old Marshall apartments in the old town of Mostar, which is where we spent the night, took us to the railway station of Mostar, željeznička stanica in Serbo-Croatian language. The trip of 129 kilometres, according to the our railway ticket, took us about 3 hours. The fee for the trip was about KM 32,-, about 16,-. The railway trip takes you through Neretva river valley with beautiful views of Neretva river and Prenj mountain range. After arriving we needed a good lunch. What else would you order in the land of Ćevapi? The restaurant in front of railway station of Sarajevo was okay. Beside the Avast twist tower we had a view of the Holiday Inn hotel. We preferred finding a room a little bit closer to the the centre of Sarajevo.
