From Mostar via Kravica falls in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Korčula island in Croatia

"Did I really say that I was going to swim in the water of the Kravica falls?"
In the early morning of Wednesday May the 6th 2009 we packed our car in Mostar. Then we went to the restaurant where we most of the time had our meals, restaurant Babilon with a view on the old bridge Stari Most, the main tourist attraction of the city on Neretva river. After the delicious breakfast, for Anita it usually was something with pršut, ham, the webmaster of course ordered a thick soup, on the Balkans usually called Čorba. After breakfast we said goodbye to the people at pub old Marshall, but what we expected happened...not without drinking a beer with Babe. Or two? Or three? Only one....more...please. See you all next year!
We were heading for Croatia again, but first of all we had to see the Kravica waterfalls, that seem to be near Ljubuški. In 2008 when we visited Mostar, we passed Ljubuški, without knowing what fantastic attraction would around there. During out travel to Mostar a few days before the very same happened. After arriving in Mostar we saw a tourist map with things to do in Herzegovina and we couldn't believe our eyes. The Kravica falls are somewhat hard to find, but they are located South-east of Ljubuški not far away from the road from to Čapljina. If you have found Trebižat river at least you have found the supplier of the water of the waterfalls. Though the webmaster intended to dive into the little lake below the waterfalls, the ice cold water made him stop from doing so. Even the beers in Mostar and the cans in the car did not make the hesitation disappear. Maybe another year...
We continued our travel towards the Adriatic coast. In first place we wanted to take the car-ferry in Ploče to Pelješac peninsula. Because the boat was going to depart not until 16.30h we decided to take the road via
The right turn on Jadranska Magistrala towards Ston and the ferries between Pelješac and Korčula

Pelješac peninsula is also supplier of very good wines
Metković into the direction of Dubrovnik to the place where Pelješac is connected to the continent. On Jadranksa Magistrala, the Adriatic highway along the Croatian coast, we had to turn right towards village Ston. As a matter of fact this whole trip when having passed Metković is way around the Neretva channel - Neretvanski kanal - which is the home of mussel and oyster farmers. In Ston, where we made a short stop last year, the webmaster decided that he was going to taste the mussels of the

Balkan next time we would be around here and so it was going to be for it was already past lunch time. We chose restaurant Koruna. There was also a choice from a broad selection of wine, which is also a product that Pelješac peninsula is famous for. For the webmaster as a wine fanatic, it was the perfect day not having to drive the car. Though the mussels tasted like mussels, they were rather small. Anita ordered scampi's and she enjoyed it to the fullest. Then we continued our travel across the peninsula. That means, Anita did and stopped every now and then to make some photos for our album, because the webmaster woke up when they almost reached Orebić, the place where you have to buy the tickets for the transfer to Dominće on Korčula island. We already knew where we were going to spend the night. In the previous year we have been with our Jennifer for one night in the apartment of the kind Blitvić family, so why not this time. We soon agreed about the price and soon we were walking towards the lovely old town of Korčula with the waterside terraces. We had our mouth set for Italian food, just like the year before. That time from a neighbouring pub or restaurant we heard some songs of one of our favourite Croatian singers, Oliver Dragojević. It was a beautiful evening and we hoped that it was going to stay that way, when we were going on a mini-cruise by car-ferry across the Adriatic sea to Rijeka
