After having spent some time in Vodice we jumped in our car again and continued our travel to Makarska in middle Dalmatia, where hopefully the sun would shine on May day. We were looking forward to see the owner of our favourite restaurant pizzeria Sunshine. At exit Šestanovac we left the motorway. After some kilometres following the signs Makaraska, you arrive at a spot where the road suddenly turns left and you will have a view of the Adriatic as if you enter a gate. Though the rain had stop from falling, it was still cloudy and so not an inviting look. After descending the road down to the Jadranska Magistrala, the Croatian coastal road, we only had to turn left at the junction there once and then it would be only straight ahead to Makarska.
From his reaction we could conclude that the owner of the pizzeria Sunshine was totally surprise to see us. "We promised you that we would stay some nights in one of your apartments", we said. After a large beer, which was for account of the house, we went examining our accommodation. It was clean and well equipped. From our balcony we had a splendid view over the park, the play garden, the Adriatic sea and even on a part of Biokovo mountain.
We went to the harbour of Makarska to sit in a chair and enjoy our reunion with our favourite part of Croatia, Dalmatia. The lasagne that evening tasted very good again, as well as the bottle of our favourite wine from the island Pelješac.
