The first part of May 1st 2009 we spent joining the celebration of May Day in the harbour of Makarska in Dalmatia, our favourite region in Croatia. We spent 2 nights right above pizzeria Sunshine, the place to be if you like good a pizza and lasagne, we discovered more often in the past years. The owner is no stranger to us any more. After a good self made breakfast that morning we enjoyed a cappuccino near the water side. Then we walked towards the harbour. There members of a political party invited the people to try some free served grilled fish, even with a cup of white wine. Really a nice moment both of us sitting on a wall of the harbour of Makarska with your bare feet almost in the water, peaks of the Biokovo mountains right behind you and deliciously seasoned fish even with white wine. For Anita it was only a matter of tasting the wine. Later that afternoon she was going to have the most thrilling trip of her life: driving in her very own twenty years old car to Biokovo peak mount Sv. Jure, our mountain in the nature park. A few moments later coming from the center of Makarska we crossed the Jadranska Magistrala, the coastal road in Croatia, which in this region is the connection between Split and Dubrovnik. From the junction in Makarska you need to take the road to Vrgorac, which leads you to the entrance of the park.
