Holiday in the Balkans in Waterman Supetrus resort Brač island, Croatia

Our first holiday in the Balkans, was on Brač island in Dalmatia our favourite part of Croatia. After travelling by car, train, bus, aircraft and ship, which took us almost a day, we arrived in our hotel Waterman Supetrus resort, which in 2006 did belong to the Iberostar group, but is now is Waterman accommodation.

On Saturday and Sunday in Germany a group of 5 people can travel together if they buy a so called happy weekend ticket, in German language Schönes Wochenende Ticket, offered by German Rail for only €37,-. (On weekdays it is called a happy day ticket, in German language schöner Tag Ticket, which is valid from 09.00 am for only €33,-.). One of the things to do if you are hungry or thirsty in Düsseldorf is eat a delicious typical German piece of meat called Schweinehaxe or Eisbein at restaurant Schweine Janes and drink a couple of glasses Uerige beer in brewery Uerige, a very special beer. A couple of glasses, because it's something that have to get used to, before you may be going to like the taste.

The village Supetar on the North side of Brač island is also destination of the Jadrolinija Ferry Company

Across Brač island to Bol and Zlatni rat using local bus services

The view from beach Zlatni Rat on the island of Brač towards Vidova Gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic Islands. Later this holiday we travelled to the altitude of 780 meter on Vidova Gora, to view this famous beach Zlatni rat and the village Bol from above. A must see.

Trip to mount sveti jure in the Biokovo mountains

According to us, one of the most spectacular tourist attractions and things to do and see during a holiday in Dalmatia is hire car and make the trip through the mountains of nature Park Biokovo, where you might have the opportunity to build a snowman on Sv. Jure, the highest peak of Dalmatia on an altitude of 1762 meter. A must see. Be sure to have enough room for your photos on your photo camera. Return to Split not across the Jadranska Magistrala, but through the valley of the Cetina river.

On Thursday of our holiday we hired a car for one more day to make a trip driving across the beautiful Jadranska Magistrala to Šibenik for and then to one of the top tourist attractions National Park Krka and the amazing waterfalls

Before turning in the car quick to the highest peak of the Adriatic islands, on our own Brač island, mount Vidova Gora on an altitude of 780 meter with a magic view of many other Dalmatian islands
