April 5th 2008: Oliver Dragojević concert in Stuurboord, Antwerp, Belgium

The concert took place on Saturday April 5th 2008 in the Stuurboord hall on the bank of the Schelde. A great location. The video clips speak for themselves. We heard Oliver's music for the first time on the roof of Pizzeria Moby Dick in Bol on the island Brač, where we spent our first holiday in Dalmatia together. The friendly employee explained to us whose beautiful and calm it was that came out of the speakers. Besides, there is a separate page with lots of pictures from our holidays in  Hotel Supetrus resort in Supetar on the Dalmatian island Brač.

I would describe Oliver as a sweet grandfather with a world class voice. What was somewhat disappointing - and now the webmaste is talking about the concert in Antwerp, not that of Rijswijk near the Hague - was, that he only spoke Croatian, while you would expect that someone with a status like him, who also sings in different languages, could also say some words in English. Of some of his songs I would love to know what they are about.

Clowns contest 2008 - Kerkrade

The performance of these two boys from Kerkrade will be remembered very very long by the citizens of Kerkrade and many visitors from other cities in Limburg and Germany: The Steierbuben stuff 36 carnival songs (in one word often called a schlager) into one sing along mix, where it was difficult to stand still at that carnival Tuesday afternoon. D'r Jroeësse Kirchröadsjer Vasteloavendslidjer-Walz it is called, what could be translated as the big carnival-songs-from-Kerkrade-waltz. The Cd is available here.

Höhner Concert "Höhner meet St. Nicholas" Roda Hall Kerkrade

A concert of the band the Höhner from Cologne in Germany, that is not only very popular over there, but also in some German speaking Dutch provinces along the border. On the left video they perform "Alles was ich will" which means " Everything I need." The other video is "Hey Kölle du bist a Jeföhl", hey Cologne, it's you that I feel.
