On our way back home from Bergen op Zoom, where we had booked our hotel not far from Yerseke where the annual event Mussel day took place, the journey leads us along Antwerp in Belgium. That city we plan to visit at least once every year and this year we were lucky: for the first time a new event took place: taste of Antwerp, in Dutch language Antwerpen proeft. A culinary event where you have the opportunity to take some small portions of Exotic and extraordinary food and dishes from all over the world. The event was accompanied by another event which is called the Bollekes feast named after the famous Belgian beer De Koninck. A bolleke is a typical ball shaped beer glass and it should contain the popular and special brewed beer De Koninck. Of course we ordered some of them sitting in the sunshine on the Handschoenmarkt square in front of the Cathedral of Our Lady or standing at a Bolleke De Koninck beer tent on the Groenplaats where the gastronomic event took place.
